The 227 Project, in collaboration with Call for Backup, is hosting a Post Critical Incident Seminar for Michigan first responders along with their spouse or 1 other family member who have been impacted by a critical incident. The Post Critical Incident Seminar will provide education on trauma, patterns of resolution, and field-tested coping strategies to promote recovery and resilience. Peer support is also an important element in the process. Discussion of incidents with fellow responders who have "been there" promotes normalization and recovery.
There will be separate and unique tracks for:
The Post Critical Incident Seminar is FREE to all who attend, including the program, dinner, and lodging on the night before (i.e. Thursday for command staff, Friday for line officers, and excluding local participants) as well as breakfast and lunch on each day. Attendees who register for the program need only provide their own transportation to the hotel and seminar venue.
Please note that attendance is limited to the first 20 couples who register. Hotel information will be provided directly to those who live outside the area and who request it upon registration.
